A Classics Giveaway

I'm currently participating in a couple classics reading challenges. One is just this year, and one is a longer term project.

I noticed that many of the participants have chosen the same books, and some of those books are ones that I've read, and are currently sitting on my shelves, taking up space for new things I could be reading. That means one thing - a giveaway!

Get your choice of the following books:
  • The Painted Veil, W. Somerset Maugham
  • Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe
  • A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Betty Smith
  • Anna Karenina, Leo Tolstoy
  • Bleak House, Charles Dickens
  • Rabbit, Run, John Updike
  • The Bell Jar, Sylvia Plath

Here's what you have to do:
Comment on this post, telling me which book you'd like AND telling me how to contact you should you win.

Here's what you can do: earn extra entries by following me on twitter and/or tweeting about the giveaway.

What a good idea--I may do something similar. I recently read a rave review of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn,so I wouldn't mind picking that one up. Thanks for the giveaway! toofondbethATgmailDOTcom

Bleak House is one of the few Dickens novels that I do not own yet, so it would be great to get a copy. Thanks for the chance!

This is SO GENEROUS, MJ!! I can't pick between titles, so I'll list three and just say I'd be equally ecstatic if I got any of them:

- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- Things Fall Apart
- The Painted Veil

I already follow you on Twitter (@JillIsReading) and just tweeted here.

You can contact me at JillianIsReading(at)gmail(dot)com.

Thank you!! :-)

Fabulous giveaway MJ!

I would love to win the Updike title. I've been a bit wary of Updike in the past and I'd love to remedy that!

What a fabulous concept. I would very much love Anna Karenina as it is on my reading list for the two classics challenges. I live in Ghana, West Africa and somehow, I wonder if this giveaway is geographically limited. In anycase my email is celestine(dot)nudana(at)gmail(dot)com

Great giveaway! I have been wanting to read something by Dickens for a long time and would love to win Bleak House :)

I'd like to read "The Bell Jar" by Sylvia Plath because I think it is one of those forgotten, and sometimes underrated classics. For many, Plath was Hughes' wife when she was actually an artist on her own right.

I'd love to win Bleak House by Charles Dickens, I definitely need to read more Dickens (so far I have only read A Tale of Two Cities and the simplified version of Bleak House). Thanks for the chance to win!
